French language course
Development of French language skills through interactive on-going communication related to participants' level of competence with highly. qualified teachers.

This program includes a French language course and a service learning project supplemented by lectures on French Institutions and culture.

Service-Learning
French Institutions course
The Institutions course is taught in English or French depending on participants language competence. It deals with the major issues at stake in French society and the way they are met by institutions and associations. It complements students volunteer activities, linking traditional learning and experimentation.

Community service
The social service activities are organized according to the requirements of our partner associations, the requests of the participating students, their abilities and aspirations and after studying their application forms.

Typical partner associations provide services to children, the elderly, and handicapped individuals, including visits, tutoring, arts and recreation, and other activities provided on site.

Volunteer passport

Participants receive a volunteer passport when completing their placement: a link between the volunteer and the association or service agency.
  • The passport keeps track of the volunteer’s activities
  • It provides details about the volunteer’s achievements
  • It describes and enhances the skills developed while volunteering
  • It can be used as evidence for validation of experiential learning
Euro-Mediterranean study
This course focuses on cross-cultural relations between Europe and neighbouring countries.

Requirements
  • Language level: none
  • Age: minimum 16

You must be in good academic standing in order to apply and applications are welcome from students all over the world.

A visa is required when staying more than 90 days in France.

Housing
Participants live with host families. Housing arrangements are organized by the IMLS. Other types of housing are available on request.
Support services
On-site support for the program is organized by the IMLS. This includes arranging pick-up upon arrival in Montpellier, host family housing, access to internet services, excursions, supervision of community service activities, and general support. 
At the start of the program, on-site orientation with presentation of volunteering activities.
