French courses a the university
Learn French at the IEFE (Institut d'Etudes Françaises pour Etrangers / French study institute for foreigners), university Paul-Valéry Montpellier, and maximize your study abroad experience with the IMLS. 
We take care of:
  • University pre-registration and Visa procedures
  • Orientation
  • Service-Learning (French institutions course and volunteer community service placement)
  • Host family housing
  • Transcripts

Spring semester
  • 18 weeks
  • 208 hours of French language course at the university
Fall semester
  • 16 weeks
  • 208 hours of French language course at the university
Summer programs
  • 3, 5, 7 or 9 weeks in June and July
  • For a total of 40 up to 160 hours of French language course at the university

1 week prior to the beginning of university courses, you will be offered:
  • IMLS orientation
  • Montpellier city guided tour
  • Final registration and French language level tests at the university
  • Community service placement

Requirements
  • Spring and Fall semesters: High school diploma or college diploma
  • Summer programs: 18 years old
The program includes

  • Orientation and Montpellier city guided tour
  • Administration & insurance coverage
Housing
Participants can live with host families. Housing arrangements are organized by the staff of the IMLS. Other types of housing are available on request
Support services
On-site support for the program is organized by the IMLS. This includes arranging pick-up upon arrival in Montpellier, host family housing, access to internet services, excursions, supervision of community service activities, and general support. 
At the start of the program, on-site orientation with presentation of volunteering activities.
