Volunteer Community Service/Institutions in French Society & Service-Learning

Academic programs can be combined with community service and a course on French Institutions (validated by the University). The promoters of the program wish to give young adults, that is tomorrow’s decision-makers, an opportunity to get a holistic view of the community.

Thus the student will not be confined within an academic ghetto on a university campus but will be part of a richer relationship with the city as a whole.

Over the last ten years students from various foreign universities have been responding enthusiastically to this alternative form of education.

Objectives

Develop values and skills outside the classroom
Link up theory and practice through a significant immersion into the community.

Method

The IMLS organizes the placement in a number of service agencies depending on students’ skills and interests
Reflection within the framework of a course on Institutions validated by the University
